Hydrogeomorphic Wetlands are classified based on the following description below:</span></p><p><span>Lacustrine: Wetlands which are controlled directly by water of the Great Lakes and are strongly affected by lake-level fluctuations, nearshore currents, seiches, and ice scour.</span></p><p><span>Riverine: Wetlands which occur along and within rivers, creeks that flow into or between the Great Lakes</span></p><p><span>Barrier Protected: Wetlands which originate from either coastal or fluvial processes, but coastal nearshore and onshore processes separated these wetlands from the Great Lakes by a barrier beach of other barrier feature.</span></p><p><span>This data was provided by the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry (MNDMNRF)</span><span>.</span></p><p><span>This feature was modified by Environment and Climate Change Canada on April 19th, 2021, and was projected/clipped to the needs of the 2021 Lake Ontario Canadian Baseline Coastal Habitat Survey.</span></p></div></div></div> |
