The Ontario Integrated Hydrology dataset (OIH) from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) was used to facilitate stream network analysis within each of the Lake Ontario Coastal Units. This feature class assisted with assessing tributary length in metres, stream order and sinuosity. It was also used to create outflows (for network analysis), and to assess barriers on the stream network. |

Network analysis would stop at the outer edge of the zones. For watercourses with outflows into the larger bays (e.g. Hamilton Harbour), network analysis started at the outflows, and selected features within 2km upstream - beyond the upstream extent of the coastal unit boundaries (by stream network distance, not buffer distance).

|
