Layers: Description: Shore-perpendicular structures or littoral barriers are prominent features that disrupt the alongshore transport of sand and gravel in nearshore areas (littoral drift). They include any major structure that extends at least 100 m long and is perpendicular to the shoreline. This barriers shapefile was created by Environment and Climate Change Canada using South-Western Orthophotography (SWOOP 2015), South Central Ontario Orthophotography (SCOOP 2013), and Digital Raster Acquisition Project Eastern Ontario (DRAPE 2014) This feature was modified by Environment and Climate Change Canada on April 19th, 2021, and was projected/clipped to the needs of the 2021 Lake Ontario Canadian Baseline Coastal Habitat Survey.
