<div style='text-align:Left;'><div><div><p><span>The 2021 Lake Ontario Canadian Baseline Coastal Habitat Survey provides a summary of habitat extent, diversity, condition, function, protection, and restoration for the Canadian portion of the Lake Ontario coastal ecosystem. The extent of the coastal units is the head of the Niagara river to Quebec Border, beginning at the shoreline and end 2km inland. The coastal unit delineation process is conducted by Environment and Climate Change Canada using hydrological, ecological, and geophysical data. </span></p><p><span> This work addresses Canadian commitments pursuant to the Habitat and Species Annex of the 2012 Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement and the 2021 Canada-Ontario Agreement on Water Quality and Ecosystem Health.</span></p><p><span>For identification, each coastal unit is given a Unit Number and a Unit Name. </span></p><p><span>This feature was created by Environment and Climate Change Canada on May 30th, 2021.</span></p></div></div></div> |
